Back pain is a 21st Century epidemic and a leading cause of disability in the UK. Working and studying conditions, reliance on modern transport, day to day stress and sedentary lifestyles are all reasons for the continuing prevalence of back pain. Back pain can stop your life in its tracks causing constant pain that often leaves you having to rely on others to do the simplest tasks.
BackCare supports and offers advice to back pain sufferers through its telephone helpline, email service, website and publications.
Prevention and finding better ways of managing back pain is also a focus at BackCare: we play a key role in involving patients in research and dissemination of research findings to make sure that the research really improves the lives of people with back pain.
