Shaw Trust is a national charity supporting over 60,000 disabled and disadvantaged people every year. We help people who are otherwise excluded, isolated, unsupported and disregarded to turn their lives around.
Some of the people we work with may be dealing with:
• physical disabilities • mental ill health • substance misuse issues • exclusion from school • adjusting to life after leaving care or prisonWe believe that if you have a job, you have a chance; having a job means moving from exclusion to inclusion, from lack of opportunities and choices to independence and stability . Holding down a job can change your life. However, for the people we work with, getting a job means overcoming huge barriers such as discrimination and prejudice, physical and language obstacles, or simply a lack of self belief.
Shaw Trust projects across the UK empower people to achieve their full potential, through offering emotional support and counselling as well as practical vocational advice, guidance and training. These projects really do make a difference to the lives of thousands of people.
